Using Social Media To Market Yourself As A Photographer

So as we know in this day and age #socialmedia if one of the most important ways to socialize and market yourself online and I am going to share some of the ways I do it.

Facebook

Facebook has become one of the most popular social media sites across the world which makes it one of the best places to get started

One of the first things I did when joining Facebook was set up a fan page for my business and with one of these pages you also get creators studio and with that comes a set of tools

The studio allows you to add posts, videos and images to your Facebook page straight away or scheduled and it allows you to see any DMs sent to you and when popular enough monetize your content too.

Instagram

Now the next biggest social media site and probably a #photographers best site in his arsenal are #Instagram.

Now with Instagram, you will be using it to show off your photographs to the world to let them see the skills you have.

with Instagram, your posting you need to do it often at least once or twice a week and you need to stay on brand and style while posting a set of photos to keep people engaged in your stream and to show them what to come if they book you.

Now as some of you may be aware of Instagram is owned by Facebook which brings you the ability to connect it to your fan page witch in turn then allows you to use the creators' studio which again allows you to schedule posts so you never forget.

Twitter

Now with #twitter, there is not a lot I can say myself as I have not found much in the way of promotion that you can do.

with twitter, I fund you can share some of your photography work and snippets of videos you may have done along with a little description.

the only way I can see with twitter to promote your self is if you're a brand outside of twitter or you paid for an ad or a promoted tweet.

that being said if you're a small brand that does not mean you should not twill use twitter as it a great way to meet like-minded people like yourself and brands like yourself that could give you ideas and stuff.

Pinterest

Now the fantastic thing about #Pinterest is the ideas and stuff people share.

For a photographer, Pinterest is an amazing place as it allows you to see work from other photographers and be able to go straight to there site because they make it easier to find.

so for your photography, if a nice wat to show people what you have been up to while at the same time giving them inspiration and bringing them back to your site.

TikTok

Now, this is one of the newest social media out there and the most downloaded of the past 3 years, it allows you to share a short video of dances lip-syncing and photographers have found creative ways to share there work and give ideas.

With #TikTok, you should use it to make a video of your photography and creative ideas your have but do keep in mind that you will have to make some trending videos just to get views if that what you want

IFTTT

#ifttt (IF THIS THEN THAT) is not a social media site but I am still sharing it because it is one of the ways I promote myself online and it makes it so simple and easy.

IFTTT allows you to connect the web together but allowing you to get one service to do something IF THIS and then get another site to react THEN THAT.

for example, I use it for my blog once this post comes out it will then send a tweet and a Facebook URL message to my pages for me automatically.
